About the Burlington Sports Hall of Fame

Burlington has a long and notable sports history that includes many outstanding athletes, coaches, officials, media, and volunteers. The Burlington Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to identifying and honouring these individuals who have created this rich tradition. They are inducted into the Hall of Fame in two categories, as an athlete or a sport builder. Some members have been inducted into both categories.

The Hall of Fame committee was inaugurated in 2007 and inducted the first members in 2008. The BSHOF was originally chaired by Bryce Leggatt – a founding member of the Hall. In 2015, Lyn Patterson was elected to the position of chair.

Currently, the Hall of Fame is located at the Burlington Visitor’s Centre, 414 Locust Street. The photos and bios of the current inductees are on display along with a panel that lists all the members and sponsors. The exhibit includes a touch screen with photos and bios of all the current members. We invite you to drop in to view the photos and bios of Burlington’s outstanding sports figures.

Nominations for the Hall of fame open each year on March 1st and close on the last day of January. We encourage you to nominate worthy candidates for the Hall of Fame.
